Wanderlust Amigas® Roommate Connection

Come Solo. Leave With New Amigas.

You don't need to wait for a friend to be ready before you start seeing the world.

At Wanderlust Amigas®, many of our travelers join us on their own. That's part of what makes our community special. Our trips are designed to bring women together through shared experiences, new destinations, laughter, conversation, and connection.

If you're ready to join one of our group trips but would prefer to share accommodations, our Roommate Connection Program gives eligible solo travelers the opportunity to be paired with another Wanderlust Amigas® traveler.

You Bring the Suitcase. We'll Help Make the Introduction.

Traveling with someone you've never met may feel a little outside your comfort zone—and that's completely understandable.

That's why we don't simply place two names together.

Travelers requesting roommate matching will complete a Roommate Connection Questionnaire that helps us learn more about their travel and room-sharing preferences.

We may ask about things such as:

  • Sleeping habits and typical bedtime

  • Early riser vs. night owl

  • Snoring and sleep sensitivity

  • Room temperature preferences

  • Smoking

  • Noise and television preferences

  • Cleanliness and organization

  • Bathroom routines

  • Social personality

  • Personal space and privacy

  • Whether you enjoy spending time together or prefer independence during downtime

Our goal is to identify travelers whose preferences appear reasonably compatible.

How the Roommate Connection Works

1. Choose an eligible Wanderlust Amigas® trip.

Look for trips where the Roommate Connection option is available.

2. Reserve your trip.

Register as a solo traveler requesting shared accommodations and pay the required deposit and applicable travel planning/service fees.

3. Complete your Roommate Connection Questionnaire.

Tell us about yourself and, most importantly, what matters to you when sharing a room.

The more honest you are, the better we can evaluate potential compatibility.

4. We review the roommate requests.

As the trip approaches, Wanderlust Amigas® will review participating travelers and look for potential matches based on the information provided.

5. Meet your potential roommate.

When a potential match has been identified, we'll introduce you before the trip so you have an opportunity to talk, get acquainted, discuss expectations, and decide whether you are comfortable moving forward as roommates.

We strongly encourage roommates to connect more than once before departure.

A Match Is an Introduction—not a Compatibility Guarantee

Wanderlust Amigas® facilitates introductions between travelers based on the information voluntarily provided in the Roommate Connection Questionnaire.

We cannot guarantee personalities will match, friendships will develop, or that roommates will agree on every habit or preference.

Ultimately, each traveler is responsible for communicating openly, establishing boundaries, and treating her roommate respectfully.

Think of us as making the introduction. You and your roommate create the experience.

The Amiga Roommate Code

Sharing a hotel or cruise cabin requires consideration from everyone involved. We ask travelers participating in Roommate Connection to follow a few simple principles:

Communicate. Talk about expectations before traveling.

Respect personal space. Your roommate's belongings, luggage, bed, toiletries, and personal items are hers.

Keep shared spaces reasonably tidy. You don't have to have identical standards, but everyone deserves a comfortable room.

Use headphones when appropriate. Late-night videos, music, calls, and social media shouldn't become your roommate's soundtrack.

Discuss sleep schedules. If one person stays out late and the other rises early, talk about how you'll handle lights, alarms, doors, and getting ready.

Be considerate in the bathroom. Remember that another person needs access too.

Address concerns respectfully. Small annoyances can become big frustrations when no one communicates.

Respect boundaries. Sharing accommodations does not mean you have to spend every moment of the trip together.

You may become lifelong friends—or you may simply be two women who comfortably share a room while enjoying the same amazing destination. Either outcome is perfectly okay.

What If My Roommate Cancels?

Travel plans sometimes change.

If your assigned roommate cancels, Wanderlust Amigas® will make a reasonable effort to identify another eligible traveler requesting roommate matching.

However, another roommate cannot be guaranteed.

If no replacement roommate is available, additional costs associated with single occupancy may apply based on the hotel, cruise line, tour operator, or other travel supplier's policies.

We strongly recommend travel protection because cancellations can affect more than one traveler's reservation.

What If We Decide We're Not Compatible?

This is exactly why we encourage travelers to communicate before departure.

If either traveler has concerns after the introduction, contact Wanderlust Amigas® as soon as possible. When possible, we may review other available roommate requests.

Alternative matches are not guaranteed and may depend on availability, occupancy, supplier rules, and where we are in the booking process.

Once travel has begun, room changes may be extremely limited and could result in additional costs.

Roommate Connection Requirements

Participation is available only on designated Wanderlust Amigas® group trips and is subject to availability.

Travelers requesting a roommate must complete the Roommate Connection Questionnaire and agree to the program terms.

Wanderlust Amigas® reserves the right to decline or discontinue roommate-matching participation when necessary to protect the experience, safety, privacy, or comfort of the group.

Participation in Roommate Connection does not guarantee a roommate assignment.

Ready to Stop Waiting for Someone Else to Travel?

Your friends may not have the vacation time.

Your sister may not be ready.

Your best friend may say, "Maybe next year."

That doesn't mean your passport has to wait.

Come by yourself.

Meet the group.

Share the adventure.

And somewhere between the airport, dinner, excursions, laughter, and late-night conversations, you just might discover that joining the trip solo was the beginning of something wonderful.

Come Solo. Travel Together. Find Your Amigas.
