Where It All Began: Our First Wanderlust Amigas Winery Trip
14 Women and a van
Before the bigger trips, the passports, and all the adventures that followed, there was a simple idea:
Get a group of women together, get away for the day, and enjoy a new experience.
That idea became our very first Wanderlust Amigas winery trip to Hye Meadow Winery in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
And looking back, it was the beginning of something special.
Just 14 Women and a Day Away
There were about 14 women on that first trip.
It wasn't a huge group. There wasn't an elaborate itinerary packed with activities. We were simply a group of women taking some time away from our normal routines to enjoy the day.
We traveled together, stopped for lunch along the way, talked, laughed, and got to know one another a little better.
Then we made our way to Hye Meadow Winery.
Surrounded by the Texas Hill Country, we had the opportunity to slow down, enjoy the winery, sip some wine, take pictures, and simply enjoy being together.
Sometimes, that's exactly what you need.

It Was Never Just About the Wine
Of course, visiting the winery was the reason for the trip.
But the experience became about much more than wine.
It was about connection.
It was about meeting women you may not have known before and discovering how quickly strangers can become friends when they're given the opportunity to share an experience.
It was about getting dressed, getting out of the house, leaving responsibilities behind for a few hours, and doing something simply because it sounded fun.
There is something special that happens when women travel together—even if "travel" is only a road trip through Texas for the day.
The conversations are different.
The laughter is different.
And somewhere between lunch, the drive, the wine, and the pictures, memories are created.
The Beginning of a Wanderlust Amigas Tradition
At the time, we probably didn't realize that this little winery trip would become part of the Wanderlust Amigas story.
But it did.
That first group of approximately 12 women helped show us something important:
Women want experiences, but they also want connection.
We don't always need to travel across the world to have an adventure. Sometimes adventure is getting on a vehicle with a group of women, heading a few hours away from home, trying somewhere new, and saying:
"I'm glad I came."
That feeling has helped shape what Wanderlust Amigas® is today.

From One Winery Trip to a Community
Since that first visit to Hye Meadow Winery, our vision has continued to grow.
Wanderlust Amigas® is about creating opportunities for women to experience more—whether that's a winery getaway close to home, a weekend escape, or an international adventure.
But the destination is only one part of it.
The heart of Wanderlust Amigas is the community.
It's the woman who comes by herself and leaves knowing someone new.
It's the friends who finally stop saying, "We need to plan something," and actually go.
It's the woman who hasn't traveled much but decides she's ready to try.
It's the repeat Amiga who enjoyed herself so much the first time that she signs up again.
That's what we're building.
And We're Just Getting Started
When we look back at pictures from that first winery trip, we see more than 14 women enjoying a day at a winery.
We see the beginning.
One trip.
One group of women.
One shared experience.
And a glimpse of what Wanderlust Amigas® could become.
Today, we're continuing to create experiences designed around connection, confidence, friendship, and unforgettable destinations.
Some adventures will take us around Texas.
Others will require a passport.
But wherever we go, one thing remains the same:
We don't just want you to see somewhere new. We want you to feel like you're part of something when you get there.
Because that's the Wanderlust Amigas way.
